What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?
Chinese Medicine is one of the world's oldest systems of healing, with a history dating back over 5000 years. It is based on the belief that the human body is a dynamic energy system, with balance dependent upon both internal and external factors. Imbalances and disharmony in the body cause us to become sick. Many factors can lead to disharmony, including emotions, the food we eat, and the environment we live in.
The goal of Chinese Medicine is to help you achieve physical, mental and spiritual balance. We use a combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, and lifestyle and nutritional advice to help you achieve this.
Every human being is the author
of his own health or disease |

The benefits of Chinese Medicine... |
TCM is holistic. Your TCM practitioner will view your body as a whole, rather than just focusing on one symptom. When providing diagnosis and treatment, we take into account not only your physical state of health, but also your emotions, your lifestyle, and your spiritual health. By targeting the root of the problem, we help you to achieve longer lasting results.
With thousands of years of accumulated clinical experience, TCM is safe and natural and produces very few, if any, side effects.
Prevention is a key aspect of Chinese Medicine. We provide lifestyle and dietary education with every treatment. This allows you to not only overcome illness, but to take proactive steps towards the promotion and maintenance of your own health.
In Western Medicine, patients suffering from the same disease will almost always receive the same treatment. However, in Chinese Medicine, we treat the person and not the disease, as identical diseases may have totally different causes. Treatment is personalised and targeted.
Your treatment will always include thorough and careful examination of your health. This includes in-depth enquiry into your diet, emotions and physical wellbeing. We will observe your outward appearance, and also examine your tongue and pulse to help us gain an understanding of your state of health. | | | |
