acupuncture.
In TCM, the flow of energy (Qi) through channels in our body enables normal function. Blockages in these channels (or meridians) results in disease. Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points along the meridians. Stimulating these points encourages the normal flow of energy through the body and helps to restore health. Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedures in the world.

herbal medicine.
Chinese herbal medicine involves the use of specific combinations of herbs, which may be of plant, mineral or animal origin. Firstly, we conduct a detailed investigation into both your symptoms and your overall state of health, including pulse and tongue diagnosis. Then, a tailored herbal formula of up to 20 ingredients is created especially to target your particular body imbalance. We use herbal granules, which can be conveniently dissolved in water and taken with meals. No endangered species are used, and herbal prescriptions can be designed to cater for vegans and allery sufferers.

cupping.
Cupping works by stimulating blood and qi flow and dispersing stagnation. It can stimulate localised healing and detoxify the muscle, and is most commonly used in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. During the treatment, glass cups are applied to the skin using suction. A vacuum is formed, which pulls the skin and superficial muscle into the cup. |

dietary therapy.
'Healing foods' are one of the main therapeutic tools of Chinese Medicine. Using our knowledge of the beneficial properties of certain foods, we can recommend a diet which will enhance your healing process. We can help you to use food as medicine, as the food you eat can be a powerful tool for restoring balance in your body. Eat your way to health! |

lifestyle advice.
The emotions you feel, the work you do and the environment you live in can all have a profound effect upon your health. In Chinese Medicine, all of these factors are inextricably linked to your physical health. For example, emotions such as anger, anxiety and sadness are each associated with a specific organ in the body. During your treatment, we identify how the way you are living is affecting your health, and work with you to bring about positive changes both physically and mentally. | |
